Vague: Hard to say without a thorough history and exam- trauma, family history, overuse injury, other symptoms, the other knee? See a dr. Whom may refer you to an orthopedic specialist.

Let me explain: There are many possible ways to get this this feeling: 1-to have injury to the nerve around the knee, which make that nerve irritable with certain movements could cause that electric shock. 2- to have some problem in knee it self which could cause some inflammation inside the knee which in certain movement could trigger that shock feeling.
