Np, the problem: With blood pressure in that range is not the short term issues, but rather the long term damage it can cause. Really high blood pressure, 200s/100s can cause scary things like a stroke, but in the range you were in, it shouldn't cause any damage to organs short term. Long term BP in that range might, but not short term. More importantly, did anyone figure out why you had high BP at your age?

Glad you asked: I suspect you actually have labile hypertension or "white jacket syndrome" from the unpleasantness of having your blood pressure taken at all. Despite the official pronouncements, i'm not persuaded that an occasional reading of 140/90 needs to be managed with anything more than a prudent, low-salt diet and staying aerobically fit.
