This may be strep throat: It sounds like you should go to your provider and get your throat swabs to rule out strap throat. If you have "strep" it's important to take a seven day course of penicillin or amoxicillin. You will feel better quickly and you won't be contagious. If you just have a virus, plan on saltwater gargle, tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for pain and fever, and feeling crumby for 5-10 days.
