Fructose problem: If you cannot absorb fructose, then the worse you can get is loose stools and a lot of gas.

Things to ponder: Those with fructose malabsorption do so because they lack the enzyme needed to absorb fructose sugar, the primary sugar in all fruits. If it is not absorbed, it remains behind surrounded by water molecules and acts as an osmotic laxative. Germs in the gut also feast on the extra sugar & create acid & gas. Since it disturbs the gut balance & causes loose stools, it is not a healthy dietary choice.
