Stye , infection etc: It could be blepharitis- which could be caused by infection , allergies etc. Or it could be stye- i.e. Abscess/pimple on the eye lid. Do you have discharge on the eye? Do you feel a pimple on the eye lid? For stye-you should just put hot compress 4x/day for several days and it would heal itself. Never pop a stye. If you have greenish discharge on the eye or redness on the eye as well- go to see md.

Clogged gland: If clogged eyelid gland, then will probably have tenderness, redness, swelling, and maybe some mucousy discharge. Sometimes these start out as a diffuse swelling, then turn into a hard spherical lump in the eyelid. These respond well to hot compresses and massage. The key is to try to make sure there is not cellulitis which is an infection that can be dangerous. See a dr if this isn't resolving.
