No: Viral illness will cause diarrhea, but will not necessarily fix your constipation problem. You need to increase your oral fluids and fiber to fix the constipation. Generally, viral gastroenteritis is self limited, but you need to keep hydrated. Dehydration is the usual reason why you might need to be hospitalized.
