A member asked:

My doctor prescribed me clindamycin 2% 7 day cream for bacterial vaginosis while pregnant. will this be affective and is it okay?

Should be fine: Since it is a cream, very little is absorbed into your system - most of it stays in the top few layers of the epidermis and dermis (your skin), and/or sits on the surface. It should be effective, but you should return to your doctor if it isn't helping. Good luck!

BV: Clindamycin cream is effective in bacterial vaginosis. It's not as effective as Flagyl but is pretty effective overall. It's safe as well. You need to be re-tested to document the cure.
