Cause?: Why is tongue numb? Near to rx cause not just symptoms. Seek consultations w ent, oral ; maxillo-facial surgeon, and neurologist.

Yes possibly cause: A partially numb tongue could create or add to a lisping issue. What is causing the numbness issue? A trauma possibly removal of impacted wisdom teeth or tongue piercing could damage the nerve that innervates your tongue. Time is critical here the older the trauma the poorer the chances of healing. If trauma greater than a year old a repair likely will not work. Please consult a oral surgeon

CAUSE!!!!: The cause of the numbness is critical in helping determine the treatment. You need a thorough history and exam. I would get to a dentist/dr. Asap. Consider more than one opinion.
