A member asked:

Is it possible to get hemorrhoid prolapse after taking a very large bowel movement?

Yes: Hemorrhoid veins at the rectal opening can become engorged or enlarged and inflamed with straining, constipation, and sometimes with excess diarrhea also. The inflamed hemorrhoid veins can feel swollen, bleed, and cause local discomfort. Avoiding straining and constipation can be helpful to avoid hemorrhoid discomfort or swelling.

Yes: If you are predisposed to prolapse, a large bm can certainly be the precipitating event.
