NEED FOR B12: Vitamin B12 needs intrinsic factor which is produced by parietal cells in your stomach which also produces hydrochloric acid two steps are required for body to absorp vit B12 from food.First hydrocloric acid in stomach separates vit B12 from protein to which B12 is attached in food. After that B12 combines with protein produced in stomach called intrinsic factor and is absorped by the body.
