Oatmeal: Why put anything in the oatmeal? It is a great food by itself. Complex carbs, fiber, some protein. The guar just adds extra fiber, and the juice is a sweetener. If you need a sweetener for taste, that is your choice, and it should not matter whether it is fruit juice, sugar, honey, etc. I would avoid artificial sweeteners in kids. The calories from a little honey is minimal.
