Social Phobia: Social phobia is a treatable situation. Many people do very well w/help from a clinical psychologist who not only does talk therapy but who teaches the person skills to deal w/anxiety, e.g., meditation, breathing techniques, self-hypnosis and the like. Your biochemistry may make you a strong responder to life. W/different thought patterns the same physical response can move from fear to wonder.

You'll learn about your thinking processes and how they affect your emotions, plus tools to deal with those. A psychiatrist may help when medications are needed for best benefit. Start by getting a full evaluation with either, to be sure of what you have.
