A member asked:

Is it normal for your veins to swell during ovulation?

Not typical: You are not being very specific about which veins, but in general, there is not an increase in swelling of any veins during ovulation or at the mid point in the menstrual cycle. If you were more specific about what veins that would be helpful.

Normal: Ovulation is related to hormonal changes and this can result in fluid retention which could lead to increased venous dissension and more prominently visualized veins. This is a normal occurrence. If your veins are continually swollen in your legs then you should see a vein specialist.
