Painful eye : Needs to be examined right away by an ophthalmologist , no use in guessing. Tell your friend to get evaluated. Good luck!

? optic neuritis: Your friend may possess a complex migraine headache, but visual blurring with pain on eye movement lasting more than 1 or 2 days could well be optic neuritis which may be an initial sign of MS, but not always.
