Foley: The girls legs are spread apart, an antiseptic is used over the urethra and surrounding area, the urethra is identified, and a ky-lubricated catheter is inserted into the urethra. The location is verified when urine comes out the other end. The bulb of the Foley is filled with sterile saline.
