Chostocondritis: Is inflammation in the cartilage between the ribs and sternum, where as sore chest muscles are in the muscles themselves.

Costochondritis : Costochondritis is inflamed cartilage between ribs and sternum ( chest bone ) . Where as sore chest muscles is pain muscles which are between different ribs . Both can be treated with anti inflammatory medications like ibuprofen.
