Croup: Croup is a result of viral infection, and recurrence in this manner is unusual. Reactive airway disease may be due to allergies, chronic aspiration of acid from gerd, and other issues (foreign body, etc.). Croup is diagnosed on clinically. Further investigations—such as blood tests, x-rays, and cultures—are usually not needed. It sounds like your baby needs to be seen by a pediatric pulmonary doc.

Stridor: Is the croupy sound only on inspiration? Does it worsen in certain positions such as when the baby is on her/his back? Feeding problems? Are there any episodes of apnea - short cessations when the baby stops breathing? Other causes of stridor ( croupy ) sounds include anatomic changes of the airway. Imaging the airway may be indicated.
