A member asked:

Hi docs, would psychiatric medicines reduce the ability to study and reduce the memory?

Potentially yes: Recognize that many meds possess anti-cholinergic side effects which could affect brain neurotransmitters, and result in cognitive compromise. Please let your doctor know what has happened, as modification of your meds may result in vast improvement.

Psychiatric meds: may improve ability to study and memorize by improving a psychiatric condition which impacts cognition/ memory. On the other hand, some may have side effects which negatively impact cognition.
