For who ?: The management of measles in the prevaccine era varied from strict quarantine to block parties to expose all the neighborhood kids. Exposure allowed mom's to predict when their kids would get a universal illness, quarantine would stop it. Measles can still cause serious illness and death in some unimmunized or partially immunized patients. Outside time while isolated from others is reasonable.
