It is normal from: Time to time to feel sad , unhappy or disappointed in life. No one is constantly happy. If that is what you mean when you say you feel randomly depressed, that is normal and in many ways healthy, since you are in touch with your feelings. Being aware of our sadness helps us find solutions to improve things. Psychotherapy helps people learn how to use their feelings to resolve problems.

Agree w Dr Levi,: It is normal to have variability in mood -especially if there are triggers for change in mood. However, marked despair accompanied by abnormal neurovegetative symptoms is not normal and would warrant evaluation.
