Medication: When you start birth control both of the symptoms you describe are completely normal. Time will definitely mellow them out, however, so just hang in there. I tell patients to give it at least 3 months to 4 months before they give up on oral contraception. It helps to lighten your periods, make them regular, in addition to preventing ovarian and uterine cancer, and, of course preventing pregnancy.

These could be side: Effects of your pills. Follow up with ur dr and get checked for thyroid problem, stomach irritation etc. Take care!
