Yes!: Not being able to sleep may indicated sleep problems that can be life shortening or life threatening. Decrease oxygen desaturations puts tremendous stress on major organs particularly the brain and heart. The only way to know if there are serious problems is with an overnight sleep test. Lack of sleep: The fact is a good night's sleep is essential for health. However, less sleep can increase hyperactivity, impulsivity and to lower cognitive performance. Lack of sleep also can affect hormones and growth. Following good sleep hygiene will help you to achieve 7-8 hours of healthy sleep. Hope it helps.
