Interesting : And glad to hear you are pain free still! the occipital nerve is a nerve that branches out from the upper portion of your neck and runs up the back base of your skull. These nerves, when damaged or irritated can produce great pain. If the resection took out the nerves prior to where the nerve damage was, then it would have stopped the stimuli, thus stopped the pain. Glad the pain stopped!
