A member asked:

Are there long lasting effects of a presacral neurectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible. Uncommon.: Because of the area where the surgery is done, very careful surgical technique is needed to avoid complications. The area is surrounded by major blood vessels, some intestine, and the ureters that connect to the bladder. Problems as a result of laparoscopic presacral neurectomy are uncommon but can occur, including urinary retention and problems with constipation.
