Talk to your surgeon: This is certainly something you want to discuss at length with your surgeon. There are dozens of "wrist" surgeries, so i can't begin to answer these for you. You have every right to have every question answered fully and to your satisfaction prior to surgery, so i encourage you to either call your surgeon or make a preoperative appointment to answer these questions prior to your surgery.

? Surgery: What specific type of "wrist" surgery are you having? Carpal tunnel release? Tfcc scope / debridement ? 4- corner fusion , etc., etc. Be more specific and may be able to help w/ expectations... Good luck!

You should not have the surgery unless your doctor answers those questions. If they do not have the time find someone else.
