Unlikely: It is very unlikely to have a true allergy to refined sugar, but sugar and other quickly digested carbohydrates (starchy foods) may trigger a reaction. Ask your doctor is you are having episodes of low blood sugar after eating starchy foods with lots of carbs.

Re test allergy: Refined sugar is simply a simple molecule of fructose and glucose combined. It is not allergenic and in fact you have glucose normally circulating in your body. Perhaps you got a contaminated batch of refined sugar or was given bad advice about the evils of white sugar. You can be tested for this if you are concerned. I would start with candy containing simple sugars and then up the complexity
