Get evaluated: It's hard to say without an examination & asking more questions. It could be anything including thyroid or adrenal problems, medication side effects, medication withdrawal...Pls see your doctor for an evaluation.

See her physician: There can be a number of reasons for hot flashes, which she should probably discuss with her doctor. If they are related to menopause, sometimes the herbal supplements for menopause can be helpful.

Several possibilitie: Hot flashes can be due to menopause, sudden changes in blood sugar, thyroid problems, and occasionally chronic illness like tuberculosis. In general, hot flashes are not normal and a person that experiences severe ones should see a doctor to determine the specific cause.

Yes: By definition, menopause not begin before age 35. While it is possible to undergo premature menopause (defined as absence of periods because of ovarian failure before age 35), it is extremely rare. If your fsh, lh, and serum Estradiol are normal, the hot flushes are not from menopause. If you are still having periods, it is very unlikely the hot flushes are from menopause.

Estrogen: The most effective relief is estrogen hormone. However, there are alternatives such as progestin hormone, clonidine, certain antidepressants, gabapentin, and some herbal remedies. Discuss with your doctor about what is most appropriate for you.

How long does a hot flash last?

It depends: You seem to be too young to be experiencing hot flashes. You may be in premature ovarian failure or premature menopause. The exact cause of pof is unknown. Most think that it is an autoimmune problem, whereby somehow the body is shutting down the ovary. You need to see a specialist to be evaluated asap, especially if you are still considering having children.
