A member asked:

Can you tell me if you have a sudden sharp pain by your heart is it serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not cardiac: Sudden, sharp chest pains are not typically related to heart disease. In fact, sharp, short-lived, chest pains are not typically related to anything serious and are most likely to be musculoskeletal pain. If you are worried, have a conversation with your doctor and see if there are other risk factors for causes of chest pain.
