A member asked:

Can you tell me what you suggest if someone is type 2 diabetic, does she/he need to tell this when visiting dentist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tell your dentist: It is important to tell your dentist. Your complete medical history and all of your medications. Diabetes and periodontal disease are closely interrelated. Poorly controlled diabetes will increase periodontal disease so your dentist needs to know that you have type ii diabetes.
