Protect from leaking: First chemotherapy is not radiation or radioactive so the precautions after chemotherapy are meant to minimize the chance that people who don't need the medicines are not exposed to them. Most chemo leaves the body through the urine or bowel movements over the first 48 hrs or so after being given. Liquid waste is often double bagged to make sure it does t spill and spread if one bag tears.
