Concussion: The fracture itself will likely heal on its own so long as it was a closed fracture. The concern about the brain is real as you likely had a concussion with the fracture. Thus the fracture is a marker for the amount of force that the head and brain saw with the injury. The issue with concussions is the cumulative effect of multiple concussions over time that can lead to delayed cognitive problems.
