A member asked:

Can ebv virus get passed from a father to a child?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sure: Ebv is transmitted like most other viruses through saliva. So it can be tranmitted from parent to child through sharing spoons, cups, kissing etc. Also coughing and sneezing can transmit the virus. It really depends how long ago the father had ebv. If he just recently acquired the virus (got sick) then he is much more likely to spread it to others. Old infections much less contagious.
