Fear: For my patients with that fear who have no evidence of heart abnormality or family history of sudden death, i spend time reassuring them and explaining their low probability of sudden death. With the occasional patient we have done testing such as ecg, echo and treadmill to document low risk for sudden death to help reassure the patient. Sometimes psychiatric help is needed.
