Typhoid: typhoid is a serious disease caused by a bacterium, salmonella typhi. It causes high fever, stomach pain, and if not treated can kill up to 30% of those infected. It is mostly eliminated from the US because of our good sanitation but is common in some areas. Vaccine is only needed if you are traveling to such an area. If you are, do not skip this vaccine.
