2 to 4 weeks: Do you also smoke? Use much alcohol? Is it in the area you held the tobacco? Is it red or ulcerated? If the area is not normal in another 2 weeks you should have a biopsy. This is easy and nearly painless. A microscopic exam will define the cause of persistence. Stay away from all forms of tobacco and use very little or no alcohol.
