It's very weak: I've run a search of the nih database a few months ago and found basically nothing -- the strongest link is with dairy rather than with chocolate. Epidemiologic studies by their nature generate a great deal of junk which is the basis of most "news", but relationships that are real give at least strong trends. Links with food make little sense biologically for a skin-based system.

CONTROVERSAL SUBJECT: It is a controversial subject and there is difference of opinion, even among the dermatologists some dermatologists feel certain foods can aggravate acne for some patients.May be excessive dairy products, sugar containing soft drinks and other food with excessive sugars, nuts and oily food may aggravate acne in some. But diet does not cause acne.
