Hearing loss: An ear infection is almost always associated with a hearing loss. Furthermore, an ear infection is rarely associated with "shooting pain". Finally the word dizziness is very non-specific. For example, is it light headedness, true spinning, etc. Obviously you need a diagnosis.

EAR PAIN: Ear pain is a common symptom in otitis media(ear infection).However other conditons could also be present.Seek help from a physician, even if pain resolves.
