Placebo response: Every medication and/or supplement invokes a placebo or nocebo response -- meaning the patient has expectations about positive or negative effects. This does not mean the medication or supplement has no physiological effect. A cochrane review on ganoderma (reishi) mushrooms did not support their use as first-line cancer treatment, or in long-term cancer treatment. http://tinyurl.com/n4cxxfm.
