A member asked:

I have been administered first rabipur vaccine on intragluteal region.says in instructions should not be give there. is this an issue? can i continue?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

OK but not ideal: The vaccine does not absorb as well from the gluteal muscles which is where the recommendation comes from. It's not harmful to you, but may not be as effective if all the doses are given there. Also, the is a big nerve in your bum that could be hurt when you give gluteal injections, so best to just stay away from them. You certainly should continue the series.
