Will adhd medicine make one paranoid and worried. plus does it effect you after you stopped suddenly taking a high dose. hoe long to come off of it.

Yes.: Yes, some people experience paranoia with adhd medication especially with large doses. Depending on the dose or whether is is an extended release or immediate release, the medications can be in your system for anywhere between 8-10 hours for immediate release or 12- 24 hours with the extended release . Other factors also included, too lengthy to explain.

psychosis/anxiiety : Psychostgimulants may cause psychosis in some child/adolescents. "also irritability/anxiety may also be adverse effects of adhd meds. Some patients when take of adhd medication will experience a rapid return of symptoms and other physiological effects. Time for adhd to be out of system due to medication 1/2 life and wether short term vs. An extended dose is used and also on age of patient.

Side effects: ADHD medications such as methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta) and amphetamines (Adderall, Vyvanse) can produce depression, anxiety, worry and paranoid thinking. Most people can stop these medications suddenly, many families do not give the medications during weekends, holidays or vacations.
