Follow advice: Following colostomy closure, i think it's a good practice to avoid very harsh roughage(nuts, popcorn, etc) until your bowel movements return to normal. Otherwise you should expect things to return to normal but it may take a week or two. It's best to follow your surgeon's advice, however.
