Several options: In my experience, Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) and venlafaxin in whatever form have a more significant potential effect on blood pressure than most of the other antidepressant medications; but when stopped, all venlafaxin derivatives have to be tapered very slowly to avoid withdrawal symptoms. Options that might provide help with similar neurotransmitter enhancement and that you could discuss with your doctor are mirtazapine, nefazodone, and parnate.
