Uually contamination: Epithelial cells — cells that line your hollow organs and form your skin — when in urine may be a sign of a tumor, but my understanding is that most often a lot of epithelial cells suggests an inadequaetly obtained specimen that is more likely to be contaminated and therefore probably yielding inaccurate results. In such situations a new specimen is needed.
