See family doc: You can't afford to wait another month. Ask your family doctor to prescribe an inhaled steroid +/- a long acting bronchodilator in the interim. A short course of Prednisone may be needed if the asthma is severe don't wait, run.

Controlling asthma: There are several medications available to control asthma symptoms including albuterol and inhaled steroids. Avoiding triggers of your asthma will help to control your asthma. For example, if dust makes you cough/sneeze and wheeze, cleaning and buying dust covers for your mattress and pillow can be useful.
