A member asked:

Why could a woman have spotting instead of a period (excluding pregnancy)? what are the causes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minimal endometrium: A very thin lining of the womb(endometrium) sometimes doesn't have enough material to shed at the time of the period and therefore, spotting results. This is common with the oral contraceptives.
