A member asked:

How come chronic overdoses on aspirin are more lethal then acute overdoses?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not true: Who told you this? I've never seen anyone dead from too much Aspirin long-term though it can compromise the kidney occasionally. Acute Aspirin overdoses still kill plenty of people through a combination of repiratory alkalosis and metabolic acidosis.
