A member asked:

What does it mean for my 8 year old son to be 100% for weight and hight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BMI: The doctor may be referring to his bmi which is body mass index-taking into account your "weight for height". It is a reliable indicator for body fatness. A bmi equal to or greater than 85% is a risk for obesity, </= 90% is overweight and </= 95% is obese. Discuss nutrition/exercise and laboratory screening (for diabetes, elevated lipids) with your pediatrician.
