Exam needed: It sounds like an infection and/or inflammation in the trachea or bronchial tubes with possible wheezing. Since you are so symptomatic, i recommend that you be examined by a physician for diagnosis, chest xray and treatment to avoid a deeper and prolonged respiratory problem.

Good idea: It is prudent to get immediate evaluation for respiratory symptoms with shortness of breath. Sometimes pneumonia or URI can rapidly detiorate to respiratory failure.
