Multiple clusters of: Very serious but treatable. Multiple clusters of small blisters and scabs. Very sick. Occurs if mother gets the virus for first time only a week or less before birth. Before mother's immunity has a chance to develop. If mother's infection is older, her immunity will also protect the newborn through passive immunity.

Hsv2: Blisters can begin one two weeks after delivery. They burst and become disseminated and lesions are very painful.
