Cold then hot: If teeth were removed in the past few days, inflammation and swelling is a normal part of the healing process. An anti-inflammatory like the ibuprophen you are taking is perfect. The key is to stay on top of the pain and not fall behind. Take your medication at regular intervals and becareful to not over exert in the first two days. Cold liquids for the first 24 hours to minimize swelling.
